Bobby Green thought he had a signature finish to close out his MMA career – but the fight was ruled a no-contest due to a clash of heads.

This is not the end to his career that Bobby Green was hoping for. What originally looked like a trademark knockout to close out an incredible career inside the Octagon was overturned by the commission due to an accidental clash of heads.

Jared Gordon fell back and ate some hammerfists for his trouble – with Bobby Green saying after that he thought he landed an elbow. However, after the commission reviewed the replay, it was clear that the knockdown was caused by an inadvertent clash of heads.

Bobby Green didn’t stick around very long to answer questions during the post-fight press conference – but the expectation is that he has not officially retired. Heading into the fight, he was planning to take off his gloves, win or lose.

The most likely scenario – and already implied by the UFC – is to run this fight back.
