Dana White has an eye for talent. When footage leaked of Summer Tapasa Sataraka stopping a robbery in progress by tackling the would-be thief, Dana White knew she was the real deal. “She stopped this punk from getting away with stealing from BestBuy in Hawaii,” White stated in a post to his Instagram back in 2020. “She got fired for this. Flying her in this weekend and giving her tickets to the McGregor vs. Cowboy fight. I WANT HER TO WORK FOR ME! Get ready for the best weekend of your life Summer.”
“That’s the kind of person I want working for me, man! You’re crazy, Best Buy. You should have kept her; I’m going to steal her from you now!” - Dana White two years ago after seeing footage of a Best Buy employee stopping a would-be shoplifter.
When Dana speaks, Dana delivers. After flying her out to Las Vegas for UFC 246, White hired her on the spot. She’s been a part of the team ever since, with Dana stating that she’s his favorite security guard. He can feel safe when she’s around after “whoopin’ that [shoplifter’s] ass after trying to steal a TV or something.”
“The best boss ever,” Tapasa Sataraka states in the video posted by Dana White celebrating her two years as a UFC employee. “[he] never ever complains. I love him, he loves me, and I’m so grateful.”
Ya done goofed, Best Buy. But perhaps getting fired was the best thing that could have happened for the now 26-year-old from Hawaii. Well done, Dana White!
