Floyd Mayweather Jr. may have retired from professional boxing, but that doesn’t mean he’s hung up the gloves. In fact, since retiring with a perfect 50-0 record, Mayweather has put on a series of exhibition bouts, including one set for later this month in Tokyo, Japan against Mikuru Asakura.
However, “Money” Mayweather already has another exhibition lined up for later this year - another showdown with a YouTube mogul. Mayweather beat up YouTuber Logan Paul, the older brother of Jake Paul, and now has his eyes set on securing another bag off the beating of another influencer; Deji, the brother of KSI.
According to the original report from Mirror Fighting, the bout will likely happen in the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, the venue which hosted Mayweather’s last exhibition against Don Moore. It will likely be a six or eight round bout with two minute rounds and no scoring - meaning a knockout is the only way to win…or lose.
There have been rumors circulating other potential big celebrity boxing matches being featured during the event, including a potential showdown between Deji’s brother KSI and former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, whose only two ventures into boxing resulted in losses against Jake Paul - including a late knockout the last time they fought.
Mayweather has continued to look sharp in his exhibitions, more recently choosing to play with his food rather than finish his opponents. For his part, Deji is coming off a stoppage over Yusef ‘Rousey’ Erakat at the O2 Arena on the same card his brother last fought at. He poses almost no threat to Floyd - but his popularity will help add to “Money” Mayweather’s bank account.
