“My dream is to have my first heavyweight title fight look like my first light heavyweight title fight. Pure domination.” - Jon ‘Bones’ Jones on Twitter. The greatest martial artist of all time also hopes to fight at UFC 282.

UFC fans might not have to wait much longer to see Jon Jones return to the octagon - this time as a heavyweight. ‘Bones’ published a series of tweets expressing his desire to fight at UFC 282 this December - and to dominate in his return.

According to Ariel Helwani, the UFC wants Francis Ngannou’s final fight to be against Jon Jones, but there are concerns that the champion’s recovery from knee surgery won’t be complete by December. There have also been rumors that UFC matchmaking is trying to make a fight between Jones and former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic for an interim belt in the event that Ngannou is unavailable.

Jones has looked incredibly sharp in training videos released. He is determined to make a comeback and start another dominant run, this time in a new division.

Jon ‘Bones’ Jones fighting at heavyweight is something the MMA world have wanted to see for decades. Dana White (and knowledgeable fans) says that Jones is the greatest mixed martial artist to have ever lived, and a successful run at heavyweight would only further separate him from the pack. When Jon Jones becomes heavyweight champion of the UFC, there will no longer be any need to have a GOAT discussion. It will be Jon ‘Bones’ Jones and then everybody else.

Which fight do you want to see for Jon Jones’ debut at heavyweight?
