Kevin Holland Blasts Khamzat as 'Wannabe Tough Guy' After Backstage Clash

“Now I’m going to give the f***ing security guards a f***ing reason to follow me around. Look, Chimaev. You ain’t slap s**t, bruv.” - Kevin Holland in a fiery message for Khamzat Chimaev backstage at UFC 279 press conference.

The bad blood between Kevin Holland and Khamzat Chimaev continues - even if Chimaev tried to mull it over with a fist bump. Holland isn’t a fan of the way Chimaev acted around him at the UFC 279 press conference after allegedly shoving Holland when the two shared a hotel near the UFC Apex arena back in 2020.

“You pushed me, ran behind your f***ing buddies, and then tried to fist bump me like we’re buddies. What the f**k, bro?” Holland states in a story posted to his Instagram account.

Holland doesn’t by the tough-guy persona that Khamzat has built for himself - saying that it’s all just an act for the media.

Chimaev gives a different account of the alleged altercation, claiming that he grabbed Holland because of the comments he made about not wearing a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kevin Holland was one of the few people calling for the Khamzat Chimaev fight back then - unimpressed with the hype then surrounding the Chechnian wrestler.

Both men are fighting on the main card of UFC 279 - Khamzat Chimaev confronts Nate Diaz in the main event, while Holland takes on Daniel “D-Rod” Rodriguez in a 180 lbs catchweight bout.
