Nate Diaz Asks for a Fight, Accuses the UFC of ‘Slow Rolling’ Him

Nate Diaz is itching to get back inside the Octagon, but the Ultimate Fighting Championship doesn’t seem willing to grant his wish anytime soon.

Diaz (20-13, 15-11 UFC) has recently taken to Twitter to share his discontent with his current status. According to the youngest of the Diaz brothers, the UFC is currently holding him up and “slow-rolling” him. The famous mixed martial arts star is willing to face anybody except for his long-term rival Conor McGregor.

“I been trying to fight everybody and no go what’s the hold up UFC ? I’m not fighting Conor he sucks. I’ll fight some one quit slow rolling me please. Thanks,” Diaz wrote.

The last time he competed in the Nevada-based promotion, Diaz lost a decision to 170-pound contender Leon Edwards in a five-round, non-title bout that went down at UFC 263 in June. After that, the Stockton, Calif., representative didn’t find any suitable matchup even though he was rumored to face Dustin Poirier on several occasions. Ultimately, UFC President Dana White indicated that the promotion had moved on from that fight after UFC 273 following several attempts to make the clash happen that never materialized.

Diaz appears to have lost interest in the rubber match with former UFC two-division champion McGregor. The pair first collided at UFC 196, when Diaz choked McGregor in the second period. In the subsequent rematch, “Notorius” took home a majority decision from the adversary. Still, many fans are interested to see the end of their trilogy, which might involve a massive paycheck for both contestants. Currently, the Irish fighter is recovering from the broken-leg injury he suffered against Poirier last July.

Following the back-to-back battles with McGregor, Diaz took a three-year hiatus from mixed martial arts. Even so, his popularity skyrocketed during that break. When he returned, he upended former 155-pound titleholder Anthony Pettis at UFC 241. The victory, combined with his well-known toughness, earned him the chance to compete for the “BMF” title in the UFC 244 headliner, where he lost to Jorge Masvidal.
