Paddy Pimblett Gets a Match at UFC London Card on July 23
Ultimate Fighting Championship fans won’t have to wait long before watching Paddy Pimblett back in action again. On Friday morning, the Nevada-based promotion revealed that “The Baddy” will be one of the names competing in the upcoming UFC London event. Pimblett will lock horns with Jordan Leavitt in a 155-pound affair that will go down on July 23.
Former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship titleholder Pimblett (18-3, 2-0 UFC) will put his four-fight winning streak on the line, with all opponents finished inside the first frame. Recently, he induced a tap from Rodrigo Vargas in the first round of their UFC Fight Night 204 encounter in March. Prior, the Next Generation UK standout smashed Luigi Vendramini with strikes in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 191 in September.
“The Monkey King” Leavitt (10-1, 3-1 UFC) will attempt to solve Pimblett and add another victory to his record. The Dana White’s Contender Series graduate is 4-1 in his latest assignments, including a highlight-reel inverted triangle choke finish over Matt Sayles at UFC Fight Night 199 in December. Recently, he eked out a narrow split decision victory over Trey Ogden at UFC on ESPN 34.
The upcoming UFC Fight Night event will go down at the O2 Arena. The bill is topped by a heavyweight battle between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes. In the co-headliner, former 170-pound title challenger Darren Till faces Jack Hermansson at middleweight.
