PFL 2 2023: Bruno Cappelozza RUNS OVER Matheus Scheffel, Larissa Pacheco Cruises Over Julia Budd
PFL 2 2023 featured heavyweights and women’s featherweights – as well as an amateur bout featuring Biaggio Ali Walsh.
Bruno Cappelozza put an emphatic end to his rivalry with Matheus Scheffel – with THUNDER. He ran over the man who beat him at PFL 5 last year with a massive right hand in the very first round.
It’s exactly the start Cappelozza wanted after winning the PFL heavyweight championship in 2021.
Meanwhile, defending women’s featherweight champion Larissa Pacheco cruised in her fight against Julia Budd. It was a closer fight than people anticipated – but the Brazilian brawler still came out on top in the end, winning via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).
Also featured on the main card was an amateur lightweight bout between Isaiah Figueroa and Biaggio Ali Walsh – grandson of heavyweight boxing GOAT Muhammad Ali. The fight ended exactly as you might expect – with Ali Walsh unleashing his fists for a 1st round TKO victory.
Jake Paul guest commented for the event, also live streaming a watch party on The W.A.D.E. Concept YouTube channel. Safe to say that Paul was impressed.
Fans are waiting to see Jake Paul enter MMA for the first time – with some speculation that the PFL was trying to set up his debut against Ali Walsh. However, Biaggio turned down the fight, telling Paul to “go fight a middleweight,” per Alex Behunin.
