The first Ultimate Fighting Championship PPV in 2022 is just a few hours away. Ahead of the double-championship headlined event, everything went smooth during the weigh-in ceremony.

In the UFC 270 main event, two former sparring partners collide to establish the UFC undisputed champion as heavyweight titleholder Francis Ngannou takes on interim champion Ciryl Gane. Ngannou (16-3, 11-2 UFC) captured the UFC heavyweight belt after a second-round knockout victory at the expense of Stipe Miocic at UFC 260. In addition to keeping his title, Ngannou hopes to add Gane to his list of victims, which includes Junior Dos Santos, Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem, among others. “The Predator” had no issues making weight and hit the 257 mark on the scales.

The undefeated Gane (10-0, 7-0 UFC) seize the interim UFC heavyweight title after putting away Derrick Lewis with punches in the third round of their UFC 265 headliner. Prior, he upended Alexander Volkov via unanimous decision in the UFC Fight Night 190 headliner and took a decision from Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC Fight Night 186. “Bon Gamin” looked good on the scales as he recorded 247 pounds.

In the co-headliner, Brandon Moreno (19-5-2, 7-2-2 UFC) and Deiveson Figueiredo (20-2-1, 9-2-1 UFC) collide for the third time. In their first encounter at UFC 256, they fought to a majority draw. Moreno then submitted his Brazilian adversary via rear-naked choke in the co-main event of UFC 263 and won the 125-pound belt. Both “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 24 graduate Moreno and his opponent made the championship weight and recorded 124 pounds on the scales.

The card lost the Rodolfo Vieira vs. Wellington Turman and Ilia Topuria vs. Charles Jourdain matchups in the last hours after Vieira and Topuria failed to pass their medical exams. All the remaining fighters made weight and the card will proceed with 11 bouts.

UFC 270 will go down at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on Jan. 22. Fans can buy the main card on ESPN+, while the preliminary card will be available on ESPN2 and ESPN+. The early prelims will start at 7 p.m. ET.
