After taking a weekend off, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is back with a fully stacked card that will go down at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC Vegas 47, also known as UFC Fight Night 200, is headlined by a middleweight clash between Jack Hermansson and Sean Strickland. Both fighters are looking to add one more victory to their momentum. The implications for this match are multiple as the winner might get a title shot soon, under the right circumstances.

In his latest Octagon appearance, former Cage Warriors 185-pound champion Hermansson (22-6, 9-4 UFC) claimed a unanimous decision over Edmen Shahbazyan in May. The Frontline Academy member spent the end of 2021 recovering from the effects of COVID-19 and preparing for a wrestling match with Khamzat Chimaev, which Hermansson lost by decision. “The Joker” had no issues hitting the contracted weight as the scale indicated 185.5 pounds when he came in.

Strickland (24-3, 11-3 UFC) is coming off a dominant performance against Uriah Hall in the UFC on ESPN 28 headliner. “Tarzan” has lost just once in his latest seven fights and is currently riding a five-bout winning streak that includes victories over Krzysztof Jotko and Jack Marshman. Earlier today, Strickland weighed in at 185.5 pounds.

In the co-main event, Nick and Nate Diaz’s protégé Nick Maximov takes on Punahele Soriano. Undefeated Maximov (7-0, 1-0 UFC) made an excellent first impression in his promotional debut, where he upended Cody Brundage thanks to a unanimous decision. Dana White’s Contender Series alum Maximov boasts a 72% finishing rate with three submissions and two KOs on his record. Maximov weighted in at 185 on the scale.

DWCS graduate Soriano (8-1, 2-1 UFC) is eager to bounce back on track after suffering his first defeat at UFC on ESPN 27 when he dropped a unanimous decision to Brendan Allen. Prior, he smashed Oskar Piechota via first-round KO at UFC 245, and he stopped Dusko Todorovic via first-round KO at UFC on ABC 1. Soriano hit the scales at 185 pounds.

During the ceremony, Steven Peterson failed to weigh below the divisional limit for his featherweight affair with Julian Erosa. Peterson came in at 149 pounds, missing weight by 3 pounds. He will now forfeit a percentage of his purse to his opponent. All the remaining fighters hit the scales accordingly.

UFC Vegas 47 will go down on Feb. 5. The preliminary card will take off at 4 p.m. ET, the main card will follow at 7 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the event on ESPN+.
