Sean O’Malley Will Struggle Against Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, says Adrian Yanez (Video)
Adrian Yanez respects what Sean O’Malley can do in the Octagon – but thinks he’d struggle against top boxers like Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan Garcia.
The UFC bantamweight sat down with Inside Fighting’s Jesse Rowe on the latest episode of 5 Minutes for Fighting, where he shared his thoughts on O’Malley stepping into the squared circle.
Adrian Yanez Responds to Sean O’Malley Calling Out Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia
“I feel technically, [Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia] are way better than the heavyweights … the more weight you move down, the more technically refined you have to be.” Yanez stated. “If those fights [between O’Malley and Davis or Garcia] ever happened … there’s a huge gap [in skill] … it’d be a payday type thing.”
O’Malley didn’t wait long after becoming bantamweight champion at UFC 292 to call out Gervonta “Tank” Davis for a boxing match – prompting Ryan Garcia to respond.
SUGA Sean you are good and all
But stop talking about this I’m going to box stuff
You’ll just get knocked out.

“Suga Sean, you are good and all. But stop talking about this ‘I’m going to box’ stuff. You’ll just get knocked out,” Garcia tweeted.
Yanez thinks Ryan Garcia’s assessment is spot on – but still favors “Suga” to get it done against Chito Vera.
