Chuck Liddell picks Islam Makhachev to beat Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284
“The Iceman” has an affinity for the wrestlers – picking Islam Makhachev and Jon Jones for their upcoming championship fights.
“Gane hasn’t been wrestling that long,” Liddell told Inside Fighting’s Andrew Capucetti outside of Bellator 290. Jones isn’t the only wrestler Chuck favors in upcoming title fights – picking Makhachev to beat Volkanovski at UFC 284.
“[Islam Makhachev is] a wrestler, and [Volkanovski] is giving up a lot of weight,” the UFC legend stated. “Wrestling is where size means the most.”
The sportsbooks agree with The Iceman – Makhachev is a heavy -380 favorite against Volk, despite the Australian being the #1 PFP fighter on the UFC roster.
