Cory Sandhagen Puts on Masterful Performance, but Judge’s Scorecard Shocks Fans at UFC San Antonio
It was a vintage performance for Sandhagen – tarnished only by one judge’s insane scorecard.
Would it really have been a UFC event without at least one questionable judge’s decision?
Cory Sandhagen looked every bit of a bantamweight title challenger – mixing up his striking with his grappling to outclass Chito Vera from start to finish. But that didn’t stop judge Joel Ojeda from scoring the fight 48-47 for Vera, leaving everyone scratching their heads.
Cory’s reaction to the scorecard says it all – he was as shocked as the fans were. MMA Twitter immediately responded, with various fighters and media personalities calling out the horrible scoring.
The very first question asked to UFC president Dana White during the post-fight press conference was about the controversial split decision, with White calling it “scary.”
These reactions from UFC fighters says it all…
Inside Fighting’s Timmy “Shoes” even got to ask Henry Cejudo what he thought of the decision on Twitter, and his response was candid.
