Bobby Green knocked out Grant Dawson in under 40 seconds at UFC Vegas 80

Bobby Green came out for a good time – not a long time.

In a shocking upset, “King” Green slept Grant Dawson with a slick left hand. Green came into the bout as a heavy underdog – the biggest dog on the main card. Dawson was undefeated in the UFC and 20-1 overall coming into the bout, so him being a -455 betting favorite made sense.

Until it didn’t.

It only took 33 seconds for Green to find a home for a left straight – and that singular punch spelled the end for Dawson. That makes 2 finishes in a row for the fan-favorite Green, who has his eyes set on an unlikely title run late in his career.

Fighters call out Bobby Green after his quick KO of Grant Dawson

The only thing quicker than Bobby Green’s knockout of Grant Dawson were the callouts from other UFC lightweights.

Green declined to name a next opponent, but he did state his desire to fight again in Las Vegas this December – prompting callouts from Dan Hooker and Renato Moicano.

Dawson came into the bout as the 10th-ranked lightweight. Green likely earned a ranking with his performance, meaning the 9th-ranked Hooker and 13th-ranked Moicano make a lot of sense.
