Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson get into a heated exchange on Twitter (X)

It’s safe to say – the bad blood between Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson is coming to a boil. The undefeated boxing superstars got into it after a video of Bill Haney, father of Devin, made the rounds on social media.

Stevenson didn’t take kindly to what the elder Haney had to say, replaying to Devin “[Shut the f**k up] before I post [your father] talking crazy!”

It didn’t take long for Haney to respond, tweeting back, “post that [little] video [you] keep talking [about], broke bum b***h!”

Things only escalated from there – with each fighter expressing a desire to finish the fight in the streets rather than waiting to settle it in the squared circle.

“I better not ever catch [you] by yourself,” Stevenson continued. “Cause I’m smacking the s**t out of [you]!”

Haney was unphased, replying “me [and] you can go [and] fight somewhere … I’ll bet that 25% I’ll whip [your] ass!”

Haney is coming off a big victory over Vasily Lomachenko last May, improving his record to 30-0. Stevenson was at that fight, telling Inside Fighting’s Andrew Capucetti that he was coming for Haney’s belts.

Stevenson is also a perfect 20-0, coming off a TKO finish of Shuichiro Yoshino back in April. The clash between Haney and Stevenson seems inevitable, with both fighters wanting to put everything on the line to unify the lightweight titles.

It’s a bonafide superfight. At this point, it seems like it’s not a question of “if,” but rather “when.”
