Devin Haney Arrested Outside LA Nightclub for Possession of Semi-Automatic Firearm
Devin Haney was apprehended by authorities for possession of an illegal gun after leaving Catch L.A.
Boxing superstar Devin Haney found himself in hot water after a night out on the town ended up in a jail cell. Haney was arrested and booked for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon inside of his vehicle after the boxer left a prominent Los Angeles nightclub, per TMZ.
Authorities pulled over Haney’s vehicle for traffic violations when the driver (who wasn’t Haney) notified them that there was a firearm in the car. Police stated that since nobody took ownership of the gun, the charge was given to the registered owner of the vehicle – who happened to be Devin Haney.
Haney was released on Thursday morning on $35,000 bail. He’ll have a court hearing next month to determine how and if he will be formally charged. This is a developing story and further details may be uncovered later.
Haney is coming off his big win over Vasiliy Lomachenko in his last fight and has been linked to potential bouts against Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez.
