ISLAM MAKHACHEV IS TOO BIG FOR VOLKANOVSKI, SAYS LUKE ROCKHOLD
Luke Rockhold thinks Islam is too big, too strong and too good for “little Volk”
Luke Rockhold thinks Islam Makhachev is going to dominate Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284 – saying Makhachev is too big for Volk.
Inside Fighting’s Andrew Capucetti caught up with Rockhold at Bellator 290, asking the former UFC middleweight champ what he makes of the main event of UFC 284.
Luke is all in on Makhachev, his former training partner at AKA. “Islam’s my boy,” Rockhold stated. “I’ve used Islam as a sparring partner for myself, back in the day when I fought [Lyoto] Machida. Islam’s a bigger, stronger guy and it’s hard not to see him winning that fight.”
“Size matters,” Rockhold continued. “Islam’s a bigger dude and he’s got good striking, good range, and it’s going to be a lot for little Volk to get through … I got Islam taking that one in probably like a dominating decision.”
UFC 284 goes down this Saturday from Perth, Australia.
Luke also shared his thoughts on Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane, as well as a potential run for the Bellator middleweight title.
