UFC President Dana White thinks he can make Tyson Fury vs Jon Jones a reality, but Fury seems keen on boxing Francis Ngannou

When it comes to Dana White, one thing is certain – never say never. The man has put together some of the craziest fights over the last twenty years, and thinks he can make the craziest fight yet – Tyson Fury vs Jon Jones, in MMA.

The “baddest man on the planet” moniker traditionally goes to the heavyweight boxing champ, but Dana White is opening the door to let Fury test his mettle in the UFC. “There’s a lot of debate going on about who is the baddest man on the planet,” White stated after UFC Vegas 74.

“All of these boxing guys want to keep talking about this and keep it in the ring. I’m telling Tyson Fury, who I respect very much, if you really want to find out who the baddest man on the planet is, I will make that fight. I will make Jon Jones vs. Tyson Fury in the Octagon, and we’ll figure out [how to make it happen]. We figured out how to pay Floyd [Mayweather] when he boxed Conor [McGregor].”

There’s little doubt that if anyone can make it happen, it’s Dana White. The question is whether or not Fury would want to risk taking an MMA fight against the best ever in Jon Jones. Very rarely does a boxer challenge an MMA fighter inside the cage – usually, it’s a callout for a showdown in the ring.

Which is exactly what Fury seems keen on – only his eyes are set on the former UFC heavyweight champion rather than the current one.

Tyson Fury Says He’d Knock Out Francis Ngannou After Heavy Drinking

Francis Ngannou has been campaigning for a boxing megafight with Tyson Fury for years. After Fury beat Dillian Whyte last year, the boxing superstar invited Ngannou into the ring, implying that the fight actually had legs.

Ngannou recently signed with the PFL, with flexibility in his contract to pursue boxing fights. A showdown with Fury is far and away the biggest fight Ngannou could make – very likely to be the biggest payday of his career by a large margin.

Ngannou tweeted to Fury that he’ll be ready should the fight ever manifest. Which prompted a typically colorful response from the “Gypsy King.”

Fury posted a response video to his Instagram – declaring that Ngannou is such easy work that he’d be able to knock out the former UFC heavyweight champion after 15 rounds – of heavy drinking.

“I’ll have 15 pints and KO [Ngannou], you big stiff tramp!” Fury stated in his response.

While Fury seems keen on the idea of a megafight with Ngannou, he’s also continuing his pursuit of a fight against Oleksandr Uysk. The two were in talks for a unifying heavyweight title fight back in April, but contract negotiations fell through after the two parties couldn’t come to an agreement over revenue percentages.

If the roadblocks in the Usyk fight persist, perhaps Fury opts to take on the more willing opponent in Ngannou.
