Jake Paul Steps Up to Replace Alex Wassabi, KSI Backs Down

It appears that Jake Paul won't be fighting anytime soon and not due to his will.

The last few weeks have been an emotional roller coaster for Paul after his scheduled fights with Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr. both went by the wayside. Even so, Paul offered to face English YouTuber and rapper KSI, who also lost his scheduled opponent recently. KSI should have fought fellow YouTuber Alex Wassabi on Aug. 27, but the matchup was canceled since Wassabi didn't pass his medicals because of a concussion.

A few minutes after the news broke out, Paul took up to his socials to challenge his opponent. Paul and KSI have a history since the Englishman faced Paul's brother, Logan Paul, two times on the squared circle. Their first amateur bout ended in a majority draw, but Paul won their rematch via split decision in November 2019.

Heard that Alex is out [because] of a concussion. Fucked up. This was a big opportunity for Alex. He will be back. KSI… everything happens for a reason. I’ll come fight in your hometown. Your boxing company. You are A-Side. I also agree to make 180 pounds for August 27. You accept?

Jake Paul was supposed to face Rahman Jr. in a much-anticipated clash set at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, on Aug. 6. Unfortunately, weight issues prevented the bout from taking place, and Paul found himself without an opponent a few days before the event. Initially, the young YouTuber and entrepreneur should have taken on Tommy Fury, but that fight was canceled due to visa issues for Fury.

While Paul offered to face KSI in London and to move down to 180 pounds, it doesn't look like his opponent will accept the challenge. At the moment of writing, KSI stated that he wants to see the fight going down at the Wembley Stadium instead of the O2 Arena in London as scheduled for the Wassabi clash. The rapper also asked for a full camp in preparation for the bout.

We will fight on my terms and when we do, it’ll be done on the biggest stage. I’m talking Wembley stadium fam. With a full camp tailored just for you and I, so that there are no excuses when we fight. None of this short notice s**t.

The situation is currently developing, news might be coming soon. Stay tuned.
