We’re not sure when, but Nate Diaz is sure it will happen. At some point, we’re all going to get to watch Nate Diaz beat up Conor McGregor for a third time.
Nate Diaz is the realest in the fight game, and the man brings more to the table than any other star in MMA. Not only is he headlining UFC 279 this weekend when he takes on Khamzat Chimaev, he also announced his new fight promotion, Real Fight Inc.
Inside Fighting’s Andrew Capucetti got a chance to ask Diaz about his new promotion, as well as a potential trilogy fight with Conor McGregor. Fight fans have been clamoring for a trilogy fight between the two UFC superstars after Nate choked out Conor at UFC 196 and McGregor won a controversial decision in the rematch at UFC 202.
“For sure, at some point,” Diaz replied when asked about a Conor McGregor trilogy fight. “He needs to get back on what he’s got to do. Whatever that is, it’s like, when we match up, we’re going to match up. We ain’t going nowhere.”
When asked about the possibility of the trilogy happening under the Real Fight Inc. banner, Nate responded “Whatever happens with it, or whatever I’m going to do, Real Fight Inc. is involved.”
Nate has openly expressed his frustrations with the UFC, with many believing that the Chimaev fight may be his last with the promotion. As it stands, it’s the last fight on his current contract, meaning he’ll be a free agent at the conclusion of UFC 279.
Whether or not the fight happens in the UFC, Real Fight Inc., or the streets of Stockton…fans around the world would love to see Nate Diaz turn Conor McGregor into a panic wrestler one more time.
